Not all these songs are from this year. I have been accused of being slow before but I couldn't care less. The Whigs have made a great album. They'll become the new hype. Mark my words. Watch out for the Poodles. They're not at all like their name suggests! Strong album! Steve Earle's album was so good that I just couldn't choose between these two songs. The same goes for the Good Shoes album. I just took the first two songs to make it easy on myself. The second song reminds me a little of Maximo Park. Hot Chip made a wonderful album with this song for the dance floor. On MySpace of "What Made Milwaukee Famous" they state that one of their influences is Jeff Buckley. This song and the singer make that very clear. Beautiful song and beautifully sung. Cat Power has made another covers album. She's got guts taking on this Billy Holiday song, but truly makes it her own. And the oldies? Well, Joe Jackson has made a new album called "Rain". He's trying to go back to his roots, but although the album's not bad, it's not at all like his Look Sharp-days. Patty Larkin, in her mid 50's already, has produced, performed and written a true alt. country album with influences from around the world. And what a voice! And she plays eleven instruments. Ian Hunter is 68 and going strong. His album is not bad at all and has some great songs if you skip the first two. It's clear that he never really was a glam-rocker. His voice is great and sometimes sounds like an English Bob Dylan. 01 The Whigs - Like A Vibration 02 British Sea Power - No Need To Cry 03 Patty Larkin - Beautiful 04 Steve Earle - Red Is The Color 05 Richard Hawley - Roll River Roll 06 Black Mountain - Stormy High 07 The Loved Ones - Sarah's Game 08 The Poodles - Flesh And Blood 09 Ian Hunter - Stretch 10 Steve Earle - Satellite Radio 11 Good Shoes - Nazanin 12 Good Shoes - The Photos On My Wall 13 Dengue Fever - Sober Driver 14 Say Hi - Northwestern Girls 15 Aaron Robinson - The New AM 16 What Made Milwaukee Famous - Resistance St. 17 The Mountain Goats - Sax Rohmer #1 18 Angus & Julia Stone - Paper Aeroplane 19 Joe Jackson - King Pleasure Time 20 Alec Empire - New Man 21 Hot Chip - Ready For The Floor 22 Cat Power - Don't Explain Don't be shy to give me some suggestions too!
